Hi Everyone,

Here is what I had as an initial recipe.

Malt: %
Best Ale 79.5
Oats 11.4
Carafa III 4.5
Crystal 150 2.3
Chocolate 2.3

I was at the beer festival over the weekend and had a few milk stouts and think I had a maltodextrin one (many beers were had) and didn't get the lactose creaminess.

For this reason I'd probably go for lactose in the recipe.

I've ordered 40kg of raspberry puree and also 19litres of Cholaca - a cocoa nib liquid product from Brewers Select. There was an xbeerment from brülosophy on this vs cocoa nibs - seemed to get decent reviews

http://brulosophy.com/2018/12/10/cacao- ... t-results/

Probably aiming for an ABV of 6%.

We've got a few potential recipes now.

Do people have a preference for any particular one? Or parts of recipes they'd like to combine?

Hi Rob,

Please accept my apologies for my lack of input on this, I really wanted to be a part of it but some things at home have taken priority.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make Monday - both my kids have Chicken Pox so I'll need to look after them.

Good work on the recipe - looking forward to trying the final product!

Simon.

That’s a shame Simon, hope they’re feeling better soon.

For those that are able to attend tomorrow, we’ll be starting at around 9:00 - 9:30.
Hopefully see a good few of you tomorrow at KSBH. Should be great fun!

What a very good day brewing it was. The recipe evolved a bit and the planned additions should make a very interesting stout. It may be ready to sample by the time of our July meeting.
