We've got at least 2 club members aiming to take the next BJCP exam in September, and I know that one or two BJCP recognised/certified judges in Bristol do not have sensory training. I'm just wondering if there would be much interest in me organising a sensory training session? It would only be feasible with a decent number of people, because the kit costs £150, plus we'd need to fork out for 20 litres of a reasonably neutral beer and probably a stack of disposable glasses (knowing that things like butyric will make a right mess of my glassware).
I reckon I have just about enough space in my house for the maximum 20 participants, but anything more than 10 would make it worthwhile & affordable (£10 - £20 per person)). We should be able to get through the session in 2 - 3 hours.
So with that in mind, please respond to this post if you'd be interested in attending.

Can \ should we just do this at a BCB meeting so as not to defile Taz's house? (and because its easier?)

Or organise an extra meeting. I've done this once, but would like a refresher.steve crawshaw wrote:Can \ should we just do this at a BCB meeting so as not to defile Taz's house? (and because its easier?)

I'm up for that
Re: Anyone interested in sensory training?
The BJCP will subsidise and off-flavour kit for bjcp judges. I belive that it would be circe $100

Hi Taz - Yes, I would be interested in this. I have many samples of off beer for assessment if required!
