1 litre conical flasks

Post by Mike Palmer »

Following the discussions around lager (making starters and all that) and my penchant for chemistry equipment, I have just spoken with a chap at King Scientific, who offer 12x1L borosilicate (Pyrex) conical flasks for a shade over fifty quid including delivery. I want three, therefore is anyone interested in any of the other nine?

This is a Bristol only offer - I ain't posting glass nowhere.

I got my flask from King Scientific (eBay) back in March, very happy. Decided on a 2 litre as I wanted to step up my slants to at least a litre on a stir plate and had to allow for foam.

Make sure 1 litre is enough for what you want to do. If you follow brewlabs slant instructions, they recommend 300ml starters so a 1L flask is fine. The Vikings just dunked their personal "brew stick" in the wort and the yeast from that produced beer for them.
