Taz,

I wonder if we could have a mailing list for people enrolled on the current BJCP Course? i.e. those that can get into the BJCP forum.
I thought it might help Ali to administer the course and would be useful for things such as my post on ordering the guidelines.

Might be other Applications (uses) for this too.

Steve

Good idea. I'm on it.

Unconvinced, as I am with the BCB mailing list too. Those of us who are diligent and sign up to both get double doses of info sometimes, posts made to the forum don't get seen by those who only use the mailing list unless they are going to get mirrored to the mailing list and vice-versa.

A forum is a better interactive method of sharing info, mailing lists suck. Giving people choice is only adding to their confusion.

Perhaps you're right, particularly now that we have private forums for both so we can control who sees what information. In fact thinking about it, the forum also has the facility to email members and groups of members, so maybe the existing mailing list is redundant.

The only reason why I like mailing lists is because there's no chance of being missed out when information is sent out to club members.

That's the "subscribe forum" on each forum home page.

Sort of, but there's also the facility to send out an email to members rather than post an article. There are quite a lot of extra features in this forum software... some useful, some not so.
