I'd love to take a few of these off your hands, but I'm moving in about 2 months so it wouldn't be worth planting them where I currently live. How long will these keep out of the ground? Could I plant them in a pot then transfer to the garden later?

They'll probably be fine in a moist bag in a fridge for a week or two; some people overwinter them in a fridge.
At this time of year I'd expect they'd do better in a temporary pot to get their roots going.
Moving them in 2 months time may mean they don't grow too much this year, but they should stay alive.

If you're interested PM me and I'll get back with address etc.

Excellent thanks. Managed to find the time to plant them in pots. It'll be an interesting experiment if nothing else. Let you know how it goes.
