Bushmill's barrels

Post by alikocho »

I've been offered an unlimited quantity of Bushmill's barrels. They are circa 190L, sized as bourbon barrels.

Cost depends on quantity shipped.

Any interest?

Could be fun to do a group big brew and stick it in a barrel to age as was mooted in bcb back in 2011. Me and Sam J have done a couple o brews to go in an oak barrel and it has been fun so I'd go for it. The main questions are:
How much would it cost?
Who would store it (and how big are they)?
And what are the chances of it actually happening, given that certain offers of hops have emanated from West Wales and have not been heard of since...?

Cost depends on numbers, not least as shipping is involved. Someone is getting back to me.
They are 190litres ish. My guess is that's about 65cm diameter and about 1.5m long.

The contracts are done (that was reported on, with prices), with what you wanted included with my contracts. Waiting for Farams to let me know when hops are actually available (t90s come through a little later and things aren't in yet, apparently) and then they can be called off and delivered. They'll happen.

Barrels can happen too, if people want them.

I got that.

I'll let you know on barrel prices when I have them.

Plenty of ex whisky casks around, might be interest but it would depend on the diameter as it would have to fit through a narrowish door.

This was the problem last time, wasn't it? If some one had a garage to store it in, we wouldn't have to worry about it.
