I'm going to see these kegs in need of refurb on Friday am (before I have knee surgery in the afternoon), to get an idea of what they're like. I'll report back, but it would be helpful to know how many people in Bristol might want (I can send them on a pallet if needed).

I'll defo be in for some, numbers depend on cost. I'm happy to refurb them myself. I suspect that Mr Poole might be interested in some as well.

That wasn't really what I asked....I get that numbers depend on cost, but maybe you could give an idea of how much you want to spend....

I don't want any, but refurbished ones are available for around £70 from retailers. A shell that needs new seals and possibly poppets I would value at less than £40. Less if the lids don't have prv's. As I posted, £200 for 4 delivered fom Denmark is possible.

I probably have about £150 to spare maybe more at a push. Roger, where did you see the Denmark supply? Worth a look I guess.

So i emailed crusader kegs

here's what he said

"Hello Phil
We hold in stock plain kegs in 30 & 50L. In June I will have some 20L slim kegs too. We offer these kegs with micromatic safety spears in A,G and S-type. For these there is no minimum order and delivery is 5-7 days. Delivery is free to UK mainland.
Prices.
20L slim including safety spear£54+VAT
30L including safety spear £57.50
50L including safety spear £62.50
We also manufacture to order. These kegs are made with your name embossed into the top chime, have serial numbers stamped and paint banded. There is a minimum order of 36 units of any size and the lead time is 8-10 weeks. Delivery is free to UK mainland. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards Justin RainesDirectorCrusader Kegs and Casks Ltd"

So, no min order quantity unless they are made to order.

Looks like a viable alternative to Cornies providing that they can be dismantled and sanitised, which Ali and Roger say is do-able.

Happy days
