Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
Re: Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
I will be going to this early afternoon on Saturday. I think Roger is coming along too.
Anyone else thinking of going?
I expect we will do a little crawl to The Bag and then The Three Tuns afterwards.....

The craft beer revolution will not be sanitised!

I just realised this is FRIDAY and Saturday, oh well, see what dregs they have left on Saturday I s'pose.
Re: Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
Went last night, but they only had 4 beers left. Had 7 halves between myself and Mrs. H and then switched assertively to Southville Hop.

Lots of BBB, one good beer (tiny rebel - urban IPA), pretty dull really. Better selection on at the Bag and the Tuns.
Re: Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
I do have a lot of time for Tiny Rebel, sadly it'd just gone when I got there. The XT Eight wasn't bad, but the remainder was a bit 'meh'

Re: Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
Could be the last Grain Barge festival as it's now up for sale, Bristol Beer Factory to "consolidate our business".....
Re: Winter Beer festival - Grain Barge 25 & 26 January
It was a nice IDEA. I am told the food was good and the music awful!
The beer was quite boring (like the vast majority of beers in the last festival)
most of the time and of indifferent and variable quality..
I have had quite a few very sad cloudy vinegary beers here.
When questioned the pleasant bar staff (that I spoke to at least) responded with mixture of indifference
and ignorance.
It was nice place to stop off at on a warm sunny day for a pint on the top deck,on the way to somewhere better.
One wonders if George cannot run a pub how he is going to run our city!
Looks like things have gone downhill since Brett left....... ;-)
Would make a great clubhouse though!!
