Which I think, was the basis for the suggestion from between the two beers sampled last Thursday.

Your stement does rather reinforce the two clubs idea, though...

Only because that reflects the current situation.

If I was to come up with a bitter I felt was up to scratch, actually I'd be in a bit of a pickle. First and foremost I'm a BCB member but I do attend a lot of BBC meetings, in fact I've probably been to more than some BBC members have. I'd consider myself a guest at BBC meetings and so not eligible to enter a BBC comp. Neither can I 'go it alone' as a BCB member as my club have already decided not to enter this round and to enter unchallenged would be poor form.

That was one good thing we thrashed out at BCB recently, we have a clear definition of who is a member.

I rather feel that with BBC "in the room is in the club." I've never considered you to be a guest at the meetings.

Bimster, Fluffy Mike. We can can vote on which of your entries goes forward to the club comp at the next BCB meeting, provided both bitters are there and no one else decides to piggy-back on to this (ie we're only judging those two beers).

This should only be a 15-20 minute agenda item.

I know BCB has decided not to enter this comp but I think we should do this because:
1) Mike and Bim deserve the chance to enter the comp if they want to
2) There is no other forum available before the date

Any gripes, mail me.

Sounds like a plan to me. Sorry for asking loads of questions, just want to make sure I'm clear on what I need to do. Memory of a goldfish you see!

and

3) BCB might not retain the Club of the Year Trophy unless they enter the Club-Only Competitions.

The trophy BCB hold was for points accrued at last years national competition.

Clearly you are talking about a new competition which applies to these interim competitions. Either that or you've changed the goalposts which isn't helpfull.

This year the Club of the Year Trophy will be decided based on points accrued from the Club-Only Competitions AND points accrued at the National Competition. This should have been clear in the details for this year's National and in the description of the Club-Only Competition released on this forum (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=380. The goalposts did move somewhat, to tie the two sets of competitions together.

Of course, points still have to be accrued by winning. Just entering isn't enough.
