Hi,
Based on a discussion at last nights BBC meeting, I've just set up this thread so people can let each other know what days they plan to attend the Bristol Beer Festival.
Details of the festival are here:

I don't actually know what day I'm going yet....

Re: Camra Bristol Beer Festival 2012
Call me a grumpy git, but i've never been particularly impressed with the BBF. The queuing on a february morning when tickets can now be purchased over the interweb is annoying. The fact that you can rarely get anywhere to sit, also annoying. Massive queues for a stupidly small number of toilets - you know where I'm going with this.. One year they had a cheese company there which created a layer of cheese smoke, at approximately head height throughout the entire hall - hardly conducive to tasting beers. The beers are good, and the service is good, but the other negatives kind of ruin it for me...

I'm up for going. Are children allowed, as if so, that might have an influence on when I might want to go.....
Else, I suspect that Saturday afternoon or evening suits my schedule.

Steve, you are a grumpy git! I am even more of a grumpy git! BUT I still go partly because it took me three years after applying for tickets by post with no luck to get there, and its our local ,and I feel I must support our local, as it does great beer regardless of how poor other aspects of it are.
Given that it is run by volunteers and would take someone to either to use 'Ticket Master' or whatever (which would push ticket costs up), or someone would have to write a web order program suite. Also with it popularity you might need to rent some expensive kit to cope with 2000+ people ordering tickets online at 11:01 on a Sunday!
I feel the order process is good, you have to show a level of commitment to buy your tickets in person and that can be a bit of a social event too.
As to the facilities, yes there is quite a bit to be desired, but again its probably the best site for the numbers and keeps costs down. there are not a great many good venues in Bristol as we all know.
Anyway I will be going, with a folding chair and a portaloo, probably Saturday lunchtime, see you and all the other grumpy gits there?

I am unavailable on the 5th to buy tickets, can someone have my camra card and do the deed for me?
I'll go whenever the majority are going but honestly would prefer Friday afternoon.

2000 concurrent connections, no problem. It's 200,000 that'll start making the server upset.
Taz... or Chris. It's up to you.

I am rethinking going at all now - just look at one of the dodgy characters they let in last year!
