So, between you, me, Ali and Rich, we entered 25 out of 30 entries. Don't think they'll be running this comp again somehow.........RogerP wrote:I did Mark. But it's new to most on here, worth a leg pull :-)
Rich entered 5 and I bunged in 3, did you enter any?

Hence my 'taking the piss' comment. we should self limit to 3 or less really.Capn Ahab wrote:So, between you, me, Ali and Rich, we entered 25 out of 30 entries. Don't think they'll be running this comp again somehow.........RogerP wrote:I did Mark. But it's new to most on here, worth a leg pull :-)

But then there would have been only 17 entries and all from the usual suspects. The whole point of the comp for them is marketing, and if they're not reaching a wider market as a result of it, why would they bother. IMO they should make it nationwide and limit the number of entries any one person can make to one. That would make it interesting.RogerP wrote:Hence my 'taking the piss' comment. we should self limit to 3 or less really.Capn Ahab wrote:So, between you, me, Ali and Rich, we entered 25 out of 30 entries. Re: BBF Homebrew competition
The majority of entries were from non bcb/bcc members, at least in terms of "entrants", clearly putting 20 entries or so per entrant skews the figures. But I do think it should be limited to two entries per person or therabouts.
Re: BBF Homebrew competition
They must have well over 30 entries then, as I know taz and bim put 4 in between them and sandy put 1 in. Then there's Matt and the steves I expect.

Why does it matter how many beers people can enter? Only one can win...

Re: BBF Homebrew competition
From comments on twitter/facespace there were several people I've never heard of entering and certainly, the last two years I didn't know half the people there.
I enter for a free night on the piss and an excuse to have the next day off work as a leave day :)
Of course, if I won, having 9 gallons of beer to give to my fellow club members would be a bonus.
As to how many entries an individual should make, well, I think most people would say more than a few was silly, 5 a bit intense and 11....

Re: BBF Homebrew competition
Why? Perhaps people want objective feedback on their beers, and are entering accordingly. I'll continue to enter as many beers as I want feedback on and am allowed and able to enter into any competition.RogerP wrote: As to how many entries an individual should make, well, I think most people would say more than a few was silly, 5 a bit intense and 11....

Cool, go for 50 entries in 2013, I'm not bothered, I find it humerous :)alikocho wrote:Why? Perhaps people want objective feedback on their beers, and are entering accordingly.
