***Results**** Winter Warmer mini-comp

Post by I_used_to_brew »

For the December meeting it's intended to have a mini comp. Simple rules, brew a "Winter Warmer" beer, totally open to your interpretation.

Judging by other entrants in a way to be finalised.

Get brewing. Submit 4 of your precious pint bottles on the evening.

Confirmed entrants so far.....

I'm already planning my brew for this.....

Are we allowed to enter more than one?

Who is doing a brew for this?

I am, Sunday should see a 1.055 ish beer emerge, recipe not yet finalised. Possibly some of it may get some homegrown Dorset Naga treatment, possibly might even smoke them first.

I am. Might be the smoked chilli porter, might be the Belgian Porter. Can't be both, so we'll have to see.

I am. Might be the dry chocolate stout I've got in atm or another recipe i'm playing around with.
Burns stuff. And makes beer. Usually not at the same time.

Age it long. I judged the old ales at the NHC. The best was very good. On chatting to the brewer later it turns out to be nearly a decade old. It was good - vinous, smooth, plummy, moreish, warming. The sort of beer you sip slowly by the fire.
