I know there are one or two(?) other events on this weekend but there is always time for a Beer Festival!
It runs Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September
This guy does know his beer but the Heavy Metal does get LOUDER later in the evening.
If nothing else it's more BJCP 'Research', Honest!

Just a quick reminder of the "Darker Shade of Ale" Festival being hosted at The Gryphon this weekend.
Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th will see at least 16 "Dark" ales being featured. Primarily Porters, Stouts and Milds.
These will be available from 12pm - 10pm Fri, Sat and Sunday.
Hot Bar Snacks will also be available so you won't have to leave the pub!

All Black mild 3.6% (All Gate Brewery)
Edwin Taylor Extra Stout 4.5% (Banks & Taylor)
Dark Delight 5.5% (Downton)
Ultimate Stout 7.3% (Bristol Beer Factory)
Inncognito 4.8% (Plain ales)
Severn Sins Stout 5.2% (Severn Vale)
Steam Porter 4.4% (Box Steam)
Funnel Blower 4.5% (Box Steam)
Oyster Stout 4.6% (Arbor Ales)
...and of course
Rainbow in the Dark 6.66% (Arbor Ales) (Exclusive to The Gryphon)
Ales available from Saturday (Delivered Friday won't be ready til Sat)
Mild 3.2% (Joseph Holts)
Black Bee Porter 4.5% (Phoenix)
Glencoe Wild Oat Stout 4.5% (Traditional Scottish Ales)
Midnight Sun Porter 5.6% (William Brothers)
Mild 3.5% (Titanic)

There will also be a couple of ales on reserve.

Yep, it's a busy weekend.
Saturday and Sunday Bristol kite festival where you can probably get beer in an inflatable pub (quite surreal if it's windy), go there whilst waiting for the beer comp to open to all. Also this weekend is the harbourside organic food festival where I'm not sure if you can get beer.
