This festival is what has evolved from The Home Brew Forum's get together known as "The Spring Thing" when that forum got sold to a an American company who banned most of the organising team it was decided to make it a stand alone event independent of any forum. Although to be fair most of the organising team are involved with The Brewing Forum which I help to admin.

Its being held at Market Bosworth RFC in Leicestershire so a bit of a trek but I've been to 2 of these events and they are good fun. A chance for a bunch of like minded people to get together, chat and drink lots of beer.

There are tent and caravan pitches, food available to pre order, a competition, a brewing demo and lecture as well as a live band for the Sturday night and for those that aren't keen on camping I understand that there are B&B's close by.

Its run as a club so you have to join the club for £5, then book the pitches food and so on.

I understand that they are very short of judges. Beer will be judged to BJCP standards.

Robert Pearce contacted me and asked me about judging. I cant make it but said some of you lot might be interested. He said judges would get travel expenses, free entry, free camping and a free lunch.

See below what he wrote:
We are looking for uk Based BJCP judges for our upcoming festival at Market Bosworth Rugby Club in Leicestershire.
Judging will start at 10:30am, we hope you can make it.
At the moment we have 5 confirmed but still need another 5 as the entries are coming in thick and fast
We would pay Travel Expenses and Supply you with a very nice free lunch.
If you would like to come down on the Friday and Camp with us feel free we have plenty of space for a caravan or tent if you have one.
Come and enjoy the atmosphere and it would give you the chance to chat and drink with some of us your knowledge would be impeccable.

If you can or can’t make it, please could you let either myself know by phone (my number is 07841021691) or email us at competition@thehomebrewfestival.co.uk

All the best
