DIY Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

Post by MapperMatt »

Has anyone made one of these?
A lot of the designs online seem to be like this one:

Not entirely convinced this prevents oxidation because they aren't purging the bottles before filling.

Thoughts?

Read 51 pages of experiences here http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/we-no-n ... gun-24678/

I've done it a few times, the key is to open the tap FULLY very quickly to avoid excess gurgling and CO2 breakout.

Chilled, well carbonated beer that's gagging to vent CO2 into the bottle would not seem to be the ideal conditions for Oxidation to take place despite what many domestic chemistry experts may say.

Interesting, thanks guys.
Lardy your version looks very pro, I expected nothing less. I notice that you just used a standard air lock grommit for your bottle stopper, this being the case I think I have all the parts to make one like in the link I originally posted. I won't be able to blast with C02, but I'll see how it goes.
