I'm getting intrigued by this randall malarkey. Anybody experienced one? Anybody want to try one or make one?
I've got a 9 litre corny, that possibly would be a bit extreme to use (think of the hops!!) and was thinking more along the water filter route would be a bit more affordable in hops.

Re: Randall
Had beer through one and it was great. The water filter casings only need a couple of ounces of hops.

Re: Randall
I've ordered the bits to make one, it will be interesting to see what it's like. Might be fun.
Re: Randall
They are fun, but be warned - you get a lot of foam!

Re: Randall
So I've read.
In an attempt to reduce it I shall use 3/8" pipe in and 3/16" out, might chill the randall with the python circuit from one of my chillers too.

OK, the filter housing has arrived and I've fitted 3/8" JG speedfit connectors for the beerline. The central pick-up tube is in place and just needs drilling.
No rush, the first beer to get used with it will be my APA and I'll most likely charge it with Citra hops.

I've had a thought, how about trying this out at the BBQ? Pack the thing with hops and try a beer with and without. Will someone be taking a CK of beer along?

Re: Randall
Great idea roger. I aim to have a corny full of beer ready for the BBQ, and if others want to do the same I'm happy to collect them before the BBQ so that no - one need to lug them to mine on the bus..!
Have you got any pics of your randall setup? What with the latest load of hops to arrive my freezer will at be at capacity so I need to find a way of getting accelerating my hop use!
cheers

I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.

Re: Randall
I'll take some pics Steve and post them up soon.
I've got a spare length of acrylic tube and some inlet fittings should anyone want to buy the filter housing (https://filtersfirst.co.uk/product.php?id_product=32) to make their own.

Re: Randall
Well, this worked, approximately half Cascade and half Nelson Sauvin, first beer to pass through it was my Bristol APA which was perked up no end by the contraption and the keg was emptied quickly. Next on was Steve C's Baltic Mild which also took on the hope aroma.
Next outing TBA.
