The immersion chiller I am building is going to use 8mm tubing, and the main feeds in and out will be via 15mm pipe. Is that going to cause problems with pressure? At the time, there was quite a difference in price between 8mm and 10mm tubing, which is why I went for the smaller size.
I hope my chiller will still be efficient enough!

Re: Immersion Chiller
£ for £ you get a larger surface area in contact with the wort with 8mm tubing than 10mm tubing.
My chiller is 8 mm tubing with 15 mm feed and return. The coil itself is run as two parallel lengths of 8 mm so reduces the friction a bit, but the coils themselves are pretty long. If you're running it off a mains water supply I can't see any issues with pressure. I never have my cold water tap anywhere near fully open when chilling.

Re: Immersion Chiller
i personally would of recommended 10mm just because I find it a lot easier to work with. i found 8mm will fold pretty easy
also CO2 cylinders are quite a nice size to form the coil around

Re: Immersion Chiller
I have one of those tube-bending / guiding tools that should let me get it coiled without damage to the tubing. Cheers for the tip on CO2 cylinders!
