Anyone got one? What's it like?
Planning a BIG beer and want to give my yeast the best start in life, so am considering my
options for aerating the wort. Usually I shake following transfer into fermenter and also invigorate with a paddle, but feel this may not be enough at times.
What are people's recommendations? Is air stone pump the way?

Re: Air stone pump
I used to use one - had an aquarium pump with some silicon tube and an air stone.
Found I got just as good results by spraying the wort into the fermentor

Re: Air stone pump
I managed to pick up an aquarium air pump for about a tenner at The Range. Mind you, that was a few years ago. Works well, but you need to use something to stiffen up the airline otherwise it just floats to the surface.
Taz... or Chris. It's up to you.

I did fine without at 1.090 splashing it into the fermenter and shaking.Capn Ahab wrote:What about beers with 1.080 + OG?
