Good capper

Post by TomAdam »

My bottle capper has a habit of ripping the top off some bottles. It mostly happens with American and German bottles, where the distance between the top and the ridge are smaller than British ones. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm getting really sick of it.

If anyone can recommend a good capper I'd appreciate it. Mine is black and branded Young's.

I use a bench capper from Brew UK. It's OK, but i had to replace the main bearing with a 6mm bolt and the magnet that secures the cap needs to be properly glued in. apart from that, no issues. Bench cappers are much easier to use than the scissor type IMO
I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
