Pitching on top of yeast cake

Post by disasterjustavoided »

We talked about this at the last St Werb meeting and I'd been talking on another forum about it.

Some interesting posts came up, mostly this one and flat tops response on this tread.

To summarize;
Just one cup of yeast cake per 5 gallon batch,
Make "bigger" beers each time,
Don't pitch directly onto the cake
Use within a week
all seem to be a few pretty straightforward and useful suggestions.

Nice one, gonna give this a go after my next brew. Should be good for saving a bit bit of money!
