Grist casually taken from the Durden Park book, but more of a feeling of a Victorian porter than any specific recipe.
Hops were whatever fell out first.

Shit the bed, that is a lot of brown malt. Which durden recipe # was that from?

Re: Yet another Porter
I only glanced at the book whilst slugging a kernel black IPA ( which, incidentally, really wasn't black. Not more than mid-brown) but several of the recipes had very high proportions of brown malt. I'll check the proportions when I get home to sparge .

Re: Yet another Porter
From the 3rd edition, some example grists:
109: 1.5 lb pale, 1 lb amber, 1lb brown
111: 1.75 lb pale, 1.75 lb brown
122: 1.25 lb pale, 1.25 lb amber, 1.25lb brown
So, whilst the %age brown is high, it's not crazy :@

Will be interesting to see what efficiency you get because 109 and 122 both state that you need a brewing enzyme to get mash properly. I've always wondered how true this would be with modern malts. Keep me posted!

Re: Yet another Porter
Pre-boil looks spot on for 75% mash efficiency. 3 hour mash, I intended 2, but went shopping :)

Re: Yet another Porter
72% efficiency.
OG 1.082, predicted FG 1.019 = 8.3%ABV
3 Hour mash
60 minute boil, all hops @ 60 mins.
I'll ferment @20C with Paul's "Proper Job" yeast.
New boiler worked very well, great hop filter :)
Easy brew, only made 21 litres.
