Perle Hops?

Okay, so one of the beers I am planning is called Perle Harbour, and will use Perle and Sorachi Ace (hence the Pearl Harbour reference) with an American hop - probably Cluster. Hoping this will be a good combo.

The reason I say 'hoping' is I have just seen Perle described as having qualities of leek and celeriac, which sounds rather rancid to be honest.

Can anyone vouch for Perle and/or make any comment on my proposed combination of hops?

One o the main bittering hops for SNPA isn't it? Don't get leek & celeriac off that

Perle won't give you that as a bittering hop, but has a slight oniony-ness to it (some say this about Simcoe too).

Sorachi Ace has been pretty scarce.....have you tracked some down?

I haven't sourced any - I was just hoping Simply Hops would stock them!

I doubt it. The malt miller didn't get any this year.

Good man! I think about 60g was what the recipe called for. Is that within reasonable limits?
