Citra arse down. - American IPA as requested by Mat at May meeting.
I stole the name from another beer but it is my recipe, i love it, very like grapefruit juice, perfect for breakfast.
For a 23 litre batch.
All water used carbon filtered and Burtonised with CRS and DLS.
5.4 kg Pale malt (warminster)
50g Carapils
115g wheat malt
50g Crystal malt
1.5hrs mash 66oC
90mins boil
Hop additions
At 90 mins from end:
50g Columbus (12.6% AA)
50g Cascade (5.9% AA)
At 45 mins from end:
10g Columbus
20g Cascade
At 10 mins from end:
40g Citra (13.8% AA)
1 tsp of irish moss
0 mins + 30min steep (90oC)
20g Chinook
30g Citra
Original gravity = 1056
Wyeast american ale (1056) yeast used.
Racked off to secondary after 5 days.
Dry hopped with 30g citra + 20g columbus for 2 weeks then bottled with 80g glucose to batch.
Final gravity = 1012.
