ProjeKt 15 - Brew#1 - Two Tons!

A kolaboration spawned out of a konversation at the KAMRA Khristmas party at Arbor Ales' Three Tuns....

Basic koncept is all hops at 15 minutes or less....
Brew #1 - Two Tons!

Pale Malt (Low Kolour) 2.5 EBC 17000 grams
Munich Malt 20 EBC 2000 grams
Amber Malt 60 EBC 1000 grams
Wheat Malt 3.5 EBC 250 grams
KaraAroma 400 EBC 200


East Kent Golding Whole 15 mins 900 grams
East Kent Golding Whole 10 mins 500 grams
East Kent Golding Whole 5 mins 600 grams

Final Volume: 76 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.060
Final Gravity: 1.014
Alcohol Content: 6% ABV
Total Liquor: 110.9 Litres
Mash Liquor: 40.9 Litres
Mash Efficiency: 75 %
Bitterness: 103 EBU
Kolour: 22 EBC

Yeast US-05

Fermenting @ 16C.

Supplementary information, smell is amazing, used hops have been sent for re-programming as bittering hops, no wastage in this programme!

interested too. My experiment at solely last 15 min hop addition - the steve wilcox trashy blonde clone ended up with not enough bitterness IMO.

It's a concern and all bets are off on the actual hop utilisation, who knows how it will end. The final wort tasted promising, difficult to evaluate because of the sweetness, but probably nearer 50IBU.

Flavour was the main interest in this brew, that and the fun of running two MT's and boilers!

Also, what's with the k's? We didn't even use eKg in the end!

BTW, Spain is lovely :)
Burns stuff. And makes beer. Usually not at the same time.

Although I realise Goldings are basically the same in all but name.

I'm a little pissed on Spanissh larger. God I wish you could get a proper pint out here!
Burns stuff. And makes beer. Usually not at the same time.
