Use by dated 05/2012 500g Mauribrew Ale514 was donated by Cheshire Brewhouse
I'm happy to split it into some brand new (so probably sterile) pots for people and bring it along to the next meeting. Obviously if I had a vacuum sealer that would be better but I don't and I can't guarantee totally sterile conditions but if anyone wants some let me know. Being out of date a starter would I guess be wise.

Probably need a defibrillator to get that going ;-)
60 percent of the time it works every time.
Re: picked up half a kilo of dried yeast
The inference was that they have been using it even out of date.
I have some fresh cropped yeast from Howard Town Brewery in the peak district to use on my next brew. The new owner used to live near Chelwood but has moved up to buy it, the yeast was originally from Thwaits but they stopped supplying micros a while back so its now mutated a bit so they consider it their house strain now.
I'll try that Mauribrew after that so some time in June I reckon

Re: picked up half a kilo of dried yeast
I'm happy to give it a go, it's a very fast fermenting yeast and likes some room. I would need about 80g if it's fully viable, probably a bit more if you can spare it Nick.

No problem Roger, I'm hoping to be along on Monday.
