What a book! Well researched and well written, loads of passion for the subject, great detail, insight and historical perspective and an a-fucking-mazing recipe section. Put it on your Christmas list.
Anyone else read it (other than Ali)?

How did you know I'd read it?
I've even had the privilege of speaking with the author about what's in it (which leads onto a top secret master plan for another book).

Re: Mitch Steele - IPA
It's not a bad book. Quite a lot of info that can be found elsewhere but at least it's gathered together in one place. The recipes are interesting but I couldn't easily decide whether they were scaled down commercial recipes or actually tailored for small homebrew quantities.
Re: Mitch Steele - IPA
Anyone care to lend me their own copy for a few weeks? Feeling tight at the mo :-)

If you liked the book, there's an interview with Mitch Steele about the book on basic brewing radio: http://www.basicbrewing.com/index.php?p ... radio-2012
He gives a quick overview of the history of IPA and goes on to talk about hopping beer and a bit of discussion about Stone beers and the hops they use.

I'm going there tomorrow, so will check, but I have a feeling that unlike a tatty scarf or hat, on finding it a pissed punter is more likely to take it home than hand it in. Bummer indeed.
