walking around lidl,s yesterday i noticed they were selling cool boxes for a tenner maybe idea for making a mash tun

Burns stuff. And makes beer. Usually not at the same time.

They are a bit more expensive (quite a bit), but the Coleman Xtreme boxes are really good. They have a drain tap that can be removed and easily replaced with a ball valve and other plumbing, as well as a channel inside that aids drainage and removes the need for tipping to get the last bits out.
I don't know how many people use them, but Ali has one and I am still toying with getting one, although it is an even toss-up again now between that and the Thermobox from the German eBay supplier again.

The American ones all seem to have the drain tap whuch takes 15mm fittings, the igloo does.
I think it's because they use ice in coolboxes rather than the gel blocks we use and therefore need to drain the water off.
