I'm Darren,
I had been brewing hedgerow wines up to last April working from jjberrys book, then had another of his books that had a few crude malt recipes in it that were OK, but then saw a few YouTube vids on brewing with grain and then was hooked. Friends say I'm good cook, almost all of my wines seem to come out great and with grain brewing I think I'm back in the early eightys having pints for 12p again;).
I'm presently working my way through the camra book, and made about 5 barrels so far.
At about the same time I started brewing the Mrs found she was allergic to barley, that was shit, but more recently found its possible to make it with 100% wheat malt using oat husks, so this is my next challenge...
Hope to see you all at the next meet up...

Don't let her drink your beer. Problem solved.

Hi all,
I'm Kev.
I'm based in Horfield and a relatively new homebrewer with 9 all-grain brews (BIAB) under my belt. At this point I am still trying to dial everything in and learn as much as I can, I find homebrewing to be something where a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing (every time I learn something new that I am certain will make the next brew better than ever).
Memorable brewing moment for me was my second brew. I was following an American Pale Ale recipe to the letter (the recipe was from a book) and due to this being my first pale ale the amounts were all relatively new. So it was with some surprise that 4 weeks later I had managed to brew a pale ale with approx 120 IBU! That certainly had some bite to it.

120 IBU, a mild, sounds perfect to me :
Welcome.
Welcome.
Re: Introduce yourself...
Well, not new, but have been absent for a year or so. I'm back in action and returning to the fold either tonight or next month, depending on babysitter arrangements!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again : ). It 's been too long.

Hi All,
My names Phil, I live out in Warmley and only started brewing a few months ago having been given some Mr Beer kits last Christmas. The first kits weren't exactly great, but I've persisted, moved up to bigger kits and have just tried my first All-grain brew and things are looking up.
I'm hoping to meet some other local brewers, get some advice and share a few beers.
Also interested in joining in with others on bulk purchases or bulk brews.
Cheers
Phil

Hi all,
I'm Enzo an italian home brewer! I'm 25 years old and I brew in all grain from four years. The 16 and 17 of October I'm in Bristol for a travel with my girlfriend to meet some people in the Devon and learn how to produce cider, but this is an other story! I've some questions for you:
-there are some pub in which I have to go in Bristol? Those places where you must absolutely go!
-I need some parts for my brewing equipment that are very hard to find in Italy or are really expensive, there is a good HB shop in the city? I need a sight glass in polycarbonate and some camlock fitting if possible...
Hoping to know some of you during my travel I wish you all good beer!
Enzo

I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
Re: Introduce yourself...
Many thanks Steve!
I'll post to the shop and I surely rise a pint to you during my travel!
