New taxation comes into effect this month - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/news/news-120911.htm aimed at stopping people drinking super-strength rubbish in parks. However, this has the potential to affect small businesses producing genuinely beautiful craft beer above 7.5%.
I would urge anyone who cares about Good / Craft / Strong Imported beer to sign the petition at https://submissions.epetitions.direct.g ... ions/18346
You can also write to your MP/MEP at www.writetothem.com
If you feel you would like to take it EVEN further, then you can spread the word by linking the petition to your Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter pages.

Re: New Beer Tax & e-petition
Why tax strong beer when the real problem is more likely to be cheap vodka? I think the Scottish Parliament have a better idea with minimum price.
On the other hand, now there is reduced duty for beers under 2.8% it will be interesting to see what new beers come out.
