Hi Guys,
Can anyone remember the hop to vodka ratio that Brett recommended in his talk at the last BCB? And also how long to leave it in?
Cheap vodka? - got
Craploads of hops? - got!!

Re: Hop vodka
Hmmm, all I remember Brett saying was that he filled the bottle 3/4 full of hops and then filled it with Vodka. Don't recall the duration.....
Re: Hop vodka
Cheers Matt - that does ring a bell. Do you remember if the hops were still in the bottle at the meet? I couldn't see from my end of the table.
Nice one Trunky - only 80 odd grams of mine gone so far...

Re: Hop vodka
just done one jar of cascade vodka and one of citra. I got a jam jar of hops, added some vodka and whizzed it up in a small food blender, with the idea that a greater surface area and breaking the lupulin glands would enhance the aroma. Now got the two jars full of vodka and leaf sitting wrapped in tinfoil to absorb the flavour. Will leave them for a couple of weeks and then filter off the leaf. Then to some experimental cocktail making!
I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
