Beer not fermented in bottles

Post by Retrolamp »

Hi all,

New to this brewing beer malarky, and have given a brew in the bag a go. It was a larger and the brew appeared to go well the gravity landing up where it should have been. I left it in the barrel for a couple of extra days and then bottled it with a little sugar. That was about 10 days ago now. Curiosity has just got the better of me and I have opened up a bottle. Its not very fizzy and its somewhat sweet, have I opened it too early? I would have thought it would have fermented by now.
Its been kept in the back room, is it possible it could be a little too cold? and has it had it now can I save it?

Any help appreciated.

Put it somewhere warm for a few weeks, it should be fine.
60 percent of the time it works every time.

sure does. You cannot rush beer...
I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
