sluggish flow from mash tun

Post by steve crawshaw »

So I did a simple brew today with the new mosaic hops - a SMASH with maris otter. As I let out the first runnings I noticed that the flow was very slow. After about 200ml I discovered the reason why. A slug had crawled up the outlet! Just hope the beer's not too slimey...
cheers

I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.

Nice! Although I don't suppose it was too comfortable at 66°C or whatever it was.

Not sure what the saccharification temperature of slugs is, but it wasn't very lively...
