Via email and reproduced here for a possible response.

"Would you be able to give me any leads on how I can go about finding someone to set up a micro brewery in Southmead.
We have no funding, ideally we’d like it to be community owned….
Thanks,
Alex

So they want someone else to take the risk and any resulting profit to go into the community?

So I emailed and said a microbrewery would cost £££, need licensing, blah blah, and got this reply...

"Hi Roger,
The Southmead Development Trust is looking at ways of creating jobs for local people and a small brewery was one idea.
It would be great if there was someone who could mentor a few local people in starting a microbrewery, the practicalities of brewing as well as business planning.
A bit like young enterprise, but for unemployed adults.
Thanks,
Alex"

So there you go. I'm out. (wasn't in to start with!)

Which is just one good reason for my rather long name. Which I think is longer than the letters after it....

BA (Hons) BSc (Hons) MA PhD FRHistS (29 characters and my name clocks in at 30)

My qualifications exceed my name length by a fair margin, I'm just not vain enough to ever use them in a sig....

Further email, he's confident that they can obtain funding. So if anybody wants to mentor some people to set up a microbrewery then you know where to go.

Send him a link to pbc brewery design, the prices on there will put him off.
