Bronx Pale Ale

Post by alikocho »

Draft at Jimmy's No. 43, 7th Street New York City. 6.3%

Deep gold. Very hazy with large white head. Good head retention. Pronounced pine and citrus hop aroma. No esters. Slight toasted malt aroma. High bitterness. Toasty malt flavour with grapefruit, lemon and pine resin exploding accross the palate. Medium light body, moderately low carbonation, sticky tongue-coating hop presence. Lingering bitter finish with with pine and lemon persisting.

A drinkable pale ale, but one that leaves you with lingering hop flavour on the tongue for some time. Doesn't drink like a 6.3% beer.....

That sounds like an IPA. Is it just me or are the lines between APA and AIPA being blurred?

I think the line is increasingly whether one dry hops or not.
