Malt: Belgian Pils
Hops: Simcoe, Cascade and Amarillo
Yeast: Kolsch
Pale gold with tight white head. Pils malt aroma, with citrus, pine and light fruity esters. Pronounced citrus (ornage, grapefruit) hop flavour and moderate-high bitterness, with pine notes lingering into the finish. Dry finish. Med-light body. Some alcohol warmth.
A drinkable, and interesting beer.

Apparently, they do a really nice series of porters (Smoke from the Oak) that are aged in bourbon and rum barrels. Try and find some next time you are in the US.

I've had almost all of them to date. They're good. I spend quite a bit of time in Pleasantville, where Captain Lawrence is located, and I know the brewer, Scott Vacarro, very well. I'm also a member of the Westchester Homebrewers Organization, who hold their meetings in the tap room (with free beer on tap). And if you look carefully, you'll note that these beers came direct from the tap room. That might give a clue as to where I am right now.
