Chorlton brewing Amarillo sour

Post by steve crawshaw »

Was recommended this by a lad in an offy. Intensely citrussy and sour, it is a very unusual beer. Well worth trying and the recipe is more or less given on their website if anyone fancies a crack at it.
I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.

I was chatting to the brewer, Mike. On the Citra Brett, he harvested the yeast from a 30-year old (I think) bottle of Berlinerwiess. He's very keen for people to harvest the yeast from the can and to use it themselves, because it will help to revive a probably now extinct strain.

I'm not a fan of Brett, but the Amarillo sour is really, really good. I expect you can harvest the yeast from that, too, if you want.

I've got both in stock, if anyone's interested in them.
