Re: Meeting this Thursday
That only gives me four days to think about what to bring.
Should it be yellow, red or black?

Re: Meeting this Thursday
Don't think I can make this one :( I have a meal out with some work people. Might just make it along later on but I doubt it.
Burns stuff. And makes beer. Usually not at the same time.

Bugger. I need your advice on my cider.RogerP wrote:Ditto, got webinars booked Thursday and Friday evenings.MapperMatt wrote:Can't make it this month chaps.
It's been in FV since mid-October with about an inch of headspace. You said once it gets down to about 1.005 in March it should be good to bottle. I have no way of measuring the gravity until I go to my Dad's on the first weekend of April and I plan to bottle it then.
My main question is how much do I prime it given that I want it sparkling, and what with? I should be able to source about a pint of original must from the freezer that is around 1.045. Shall I sling that in?

Re: Meeting this Thursday
I would bottle it now. I'm doing some of mine in the next few days. 1 tsp sugar in a pint bottle, half as much again in a sparkling wine bottle, this is pretty standard. Never tried it with juice.
My experience of the last few years is that you'll get some yeast action if you bottle before June, after the end of August the yeast is defunct and won't carbonate. (This is with a natural yeast fermentation!!)
