Winter Warmer mini-comp - December 6th

Post by I_used_to_brew »

It's time to get a "winter warmer" on the go for the December meeting, or you may have done one already. You need to bring along 4 x 'pint' size bottles of your entry, anonymous brown glass botles would be preferred. One entry per person only.

Jon Comer (Arbor Ales) has once again kindly offered to brew the winning recipe, I was last years winner and it was great fun, several other members came along too and their help was much appreciated.

What, exactly, a winter warmer is can be open to some interpretation, but strongish and darkish would be the first things that come to my mind. Old ales, porters etc, Taz has a good description which I can't quite remember.

I would like all those who intend to enter to let me know by 30th November.

Entrants so far:

Me
Matt
SteveW
Rodney
PeterC
Ali
Colin
Finlay
MarkG

I think it was something along the lines of.......You've been out for a long walk in the cold and have come in and want one beer to sup by the fire.

Anyway, I'm not participating in this one as I won't be at the meeting in case junior makes an early appearance.

Found a beer tucked away that I had forgotten about that is tasting pretty good, so all is good.

Tie break? As you have this, SteveW won.

And I didn't even manage to come fifth equal. Guess people really didn't like my beer.
