Hi
We had our first structured feedback (i'm going to call it judging) session last night and I'm keen to hear your views on how it can be improved. Personally I think these sessions can be useful for brewers to help improve their ales but I wouldn't want it to turn into a chore or become too unwieldy to manage. I think we did too many last night (8) and Taz suggested a maximum limit of 5, which I agree with. One question is how we determine who's beers get judged if demand is higher than 5 per session. We could operate a queue, or draw straws \ dice? Ideas?
Sandy also suggested that after we judge each beer, the brewer has 5 minutes to describe their beer and take a couple of questions. I think this is also a good idea.
If we adopt both of the above (and the sessions are robustly chaired (!)) that means 15 minutes per beer plus some leeway equals about an hour and a half for a judging session. That seems about right to me and leaves scope for non - judged tastings afterwards.
Does anyone have thoughts on the above or any other feedback \ ideas?
cheers
steve

I like to keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.
