Ah, possibly.

They do make a big point about their beer being unfined though.

I had a Revival last night that looked like muddy water.

Re: brewdog bar coming to bristol

Ha, Ned does have a quite unique manner. Will probably go down well at a BD bar.

Local brewer not happy about the bar or the manager?

Re: brewdog bar coming to bristol

Confirmed with the licence office today that the licence was granted.

Also have a sneaking suspicion who will be the manager. If you know Bristol pubs you will know him. Nothing confirmed yet though.

Roll on October.

Re: finings

If you speak to the guys at Moor they're tell you never to fine.

Re: Colston Yard

They're normally very good with prices, but that does feel a little high. I am assuming it's reflective of the price of the keg, of which I doubt there are many around.

Orval

Just got back from a trip to the Orval abbey. For anyone interested in visiting, I wrote a bit about it here: http://bluegiantbeer.co.uk/2012/07/13/orval-a-pilgrimage-that-doesnt-quite-deliver/ (sorry to blog plug but thought it might be vaguely useful as there's not much of a resource online if you...

Re: flying dog raging bitch

Agreed. I live 5 minutes away and go there regularly. Pizza is good too. I just wish they'd stuck to calling themselves a bar instead of a "craft beer" bar because they're going to be put to shame by BrewDog and Euston/Bristol Tap (and already are to an extent by Robin Hood, Coslton Yard, ...

Re: flying dog raging bitch

a belgian IPA(!) at Beer'd. 8.3% but doesn't taste that strong. Very drinkable and not bitter. A very interesting beer, I would be interested in trying to make something like this. It was my first visit to Beer'd and I was quite impressed. They sell thirds of pints so easily able to sample a few be...

Re: good restaurant in bristol?

Big Bang on Whiteladies Road - all sausages, but really good. Assuming a new one hasn't opened recently, this closed more than two years ago :-). Replaced by The Cow Shed which is excellent, but quite pricey. I reckon the best restaurants in Bristol are: Pump House on the water Gallimaufry on Glos ...
