Re: The Home Brew Festival - June 12th - 14th
Robert Pearce contacted me and asked me about judging. I cant make it but said some of you lot might be interested. He said judges would get travel expenses, free entry, free camping and a free lunch. See below what he wrote: We are looking for uk Based BJCP judges for our upcoming festival at Marke...

Re: Bramling X over (The "Test Brew")
Hello everybody, Sorry to confuse matters but due to the age of the bramling cross (2 years) I m going to have to adjust my recipe for the Alpha acid loss for it to have enough bitterness. Assuming the bale was kept sealed at 8oC I reckon the adjusted AA is about 4.5% this means the hop charge needs...

Re: Bramling X over (The "Test Brew")
What was the original AA% on those bramling cross? I'm a bit worried they may have really dropped off seeing they are 2011.
Anybody got a good estimate for current AA%?

Re: The "Test Brew"
Ok fellas here is a recipe suggestion, I've tried to keep it as simple as possible. I have not gone for any dry hopping as some may be unable to do this. There should be plenty of late hop character though: I have gone for a fairly low mash temp as SO4 leaves a fair bit of residual sugar. Here is th...

Re: The "Test Brew"
I'm in on this as well and intend to do a commercial batch (100l) of this beer. I wont be able to do it until janurary though as I havn't got my next mega batch of labels yet. When were we thinking of all brewing this? I shall finalise the receipe shortly but it will be a simple grain bill with SO4 ...

Re: October 2013 Meeting
Hi Fellas, Unfortunately might not be able to make it to the October meeting as I'm doing another Bristol beer week thing at the Hare on the hill where my beer is being released. If someone from the club could come along to the hare 7ish I can pass on the malt samples and cash for the malt. I will t...
